The Geology of British Columbia map is a series of two maps and one detailed legend that depicts the geology of the province in full color at a 1:1,000,000 scale. It reflects the results of numerous field surveys by British Columbia Geological Survey geologists and their colleagues from federal government and universities. The map is a critical tool that can be used by a wide variety of users including prospectors and mineral exploration companies for identifying areas to search for new mines, geologists for assessing concerns about local natural hazards, and teachers for explaining the geology in their local area. Project partners include the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources and Clover Point Cartographics, Ltd.
