These maps identify three main drivers in Sekhukhune: food availability, food accessibility, and food utilization. Within these key drivers, drought, arable land, joblessness, food prices, grants, sanitation, hunger, and malnourishment play key roles. After the successful completion of the FIVIMS pilot phase in May 2005, the Food Security Directorate considered its next steps toward field testing and implementation of FIVIMS in South Africa.
