Published twice annually, the Camp Pendleton Natural Resources Map highlights the natural resources at this Marine Corps Base. At 125,000 acres, Camp Pendleton is one of the last natural habitats in coastal Southern California and serves as a buffer between San Diego and Orange counties.

To best meet the needs of the Marine Corps training mission, the Assistant Chief of Staff, Environmental Security, strives to help Camp Pendleton maximize its training potential while ”Preserving California’s Precious Resources”—one of Camp Pendleton’s mottos. This map is one of the many GIS tools that the Environmental Security Office uses to help best manage the environment while providing the best training available to U.S. Marines.
