Road Atlas of Sweden

The ICA Road Atlas of Sweden is one of several printed Swedish road atlas products, now in its fifth edition. It contains several components including index maps, a distance matrix covering all midsize to large Swedish towns, primary mapping at 1:250,000 map scale for southern Sweden and 1:450,000 for the north, street level mapping of the 30 largest towns, and an index of populated places.

Significant effort has been placed on cartographic design covering issues such as effective color balance, custom design of map symbols, and consistent and careful placement of map text. Equal attention also has been given to a completely database-driven production environment. A digital cartographic model has been created from source data covering all layers and features used for this product. The production system is based on ArcGIS; ArcSDE; and CPS NG, a T-Kartor custom application built for production workflows.
