City of Oxnard 2020 General Plan Map

The City of Oxnard’s vision for its future is expressed in this 2020 General Plan land use map. The challenge for the map design was to reflect the city’s vision with clarity, accuracy, and appreciative esthetics. The map shows the various land use categories, major natural features, major street names, parcels, and street lines. Major land use categories include residential, commercial, industrial, open space, and other. Through the careful use of space, color, and typography, the legend is able to succinctly describe five major land use categories and clearly present the 35 subcategories. This map is the centerpiece of the 2006 General Plan Update Map Atlas.
