San Juan County Fire Protection District 4 Map Book

Skagit County GIS often partners with neighboring government agencies to provide mapping services. The map book was created for San Juan County Fire Protection District 4, which is on Lopez Island (San Juan Islands) in Washington State. The small-size map book provides a way for emergency responders out in the field to quickly look up addresses in the road name index and then reference them to the corresponding map pages. Each map page includes geographic features such as water sources, driveways, buildings, docks, parcels, and contours. Most of the data was created by San Juan County GIS and San Juan County Fire Protection District 4. For cartographic purposes and as an additional resource, a forest cover layer produced by the National Land Cover Database (NLCD) was used.
