The Chula Vista Fire Department has developed a series of Fire Incident Response Maps to assist firefighters answering requests for aid. These plans are intended to be an immediate source of information for the first arriving units and incident commanders. Included on the maps are shopping centers, schools, apartment complexes, and many other facilities. The majority of calls received are for medical help and this makes quickly locating the exact incident site critical. Chula Vista’s rapid development over the past 10 years has created many meandering residential streets and cul-de-sacs along with apartment complexes possessing creative layouts. While esthetically pleasing, it is not conducive to the swift location of a particular unit. These maps help in locating the precise position and determining the best route within a site to the incident. This map represents an overview of the Otay Ranch Center. The red, blue, and green lines represent the map boundaries of three detailed views of the east and west portions of the shopping area.
