GIS in Support of the Concentrating Solar Power Program

This poster describes various ongoing GIS activities at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in support of the Concentrating Solar Power research program. Activities include development of direct normal resource data, analyses to quantify potential for development, and development of interactive data visualization tools. The products are used to understand the relative intensity of the solar resource and the site characteristics that enhance or restrict development into power projects.
