PNM is New Mexico's largest electricity and natural gas provider and is based in Albuquerque. PNM developed this map showing the relationship of wind, solar, and geothermal energy sources to existing electric transmission facilities for use in discussions with various state and federal agencies and the public.

The map illustrates both the limited overlap of the three types of renewable energy potential and the need for more electric transmission lines if renewable resources are to be developed further in New Mexico. Smaller maps show the geographic variations in renewable energy potential.
