Wylie Fire and Rescue Actual Response Times

Collin County

Since 2005, Collin County has had a local agreement with the City of Wylie to provide GIS services for the Wylie Fire and Rescue Department. Specific fire district GIS layers were created from historical computer-aided design (CAD) drawings and integrated into the Collin County database. After the base layers were complete, spatial analysis became possible.

This map shows the average of actual emergency call response times between June 2006 and August 2007. The data was prepared by interpolating geocoded response times. The interpolated surface was then smoothed using neighborhood statistics. Accuracy of the surface layer increases in areas with a greater number of calls.
