This map was developed to support the wildland fire plan for the 1.05-million-acre Barry M. Goldwater Range—East. It provides planners and decision makers a view of the spatial relationships of important features in the consideration of wildland fire, including military assets and sensitive environmental and cultural resources.
The map shows factors relevant to fire ignition and spread—such as previously burned areas, fire breaks, and topography. It provides wildland fire responders with critical information, including firefighter safety zones, areas where unexploded ordnance is likely to exist, location and condition of roads, position of high-value electronic equipment, and location of combustible archeological sites. The map also includes the fire management response flowchart and contact numbers for neighboring land managers and fire responders.
