The map of Garibaldi Park in British Columbia, Canada, was designed and produced using a combination of state-of-the-art satellite image processing methods, geographic information analysis, and classic high-mountain cartographic techniques.
It features full-color, shaded relief, 1:50,000-scale topographic map with trails and backcountry routes, 20-meter contours, terrain types (rock, forest, alpine, ice, etc.), clearly marked access roads and trailheads along with a cross-referenced information guide for both hikers and skiers. The cover of the map was also produced at 1:50,000 scale to allow people traversing the Garibaldi Névé to use the map in its folded state.
