Southeast Asia—Understanding the Energy Value Chain 2009

Wood Mackenzie

Wood Mackenzie, a global energy, metals, and mining research and consulting firm, has produced a detailed wall map of Southeast Asia showing the latest information about the oil, gas, and coal infrastructure in the region.

The map shows developed and undeveloped oil and gas fields, coal concessions, refineries, liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, oil and gas pipelines, thermal power stations, hydroelectric power stations, and geothermal power stations within the region. The map also includes information on Asia Pacific LNG flows and infrastructure. Among other details charted on the map are the top twenty basins by value creation from 1999 to 2008, value creation by exploration from 1999 to 2008, Southeast Asia production by water depth, the top ten Asia Pacific crude streams from 2005 to 2020, and thermal coal exports within Asia Pacific.

The map allows one to get a rapid appreciation of the scale and nature of the oil and gas business in the region, the location of the main oil and gas and coal projects, the level of infrastructure, and refinery capacity and competitive position.
