This map shows the GIS analysis of twenty-one layers of forest data, which is the basis of the Nevada Division of Forestry’s statewide Forest Resource Assessment and Strategies. The Nevada Division of Forestry used ArcGIS software to help with its statewide assessment mandated by the 2008 Farm Bill. It would be used to help determine priority landscapes in which to invest funding in order to maximize benefits to the citizens of Nevada.
The assessment includes a strategy to address the issues within the priority landscape and make efficient use of resources to complete projects. The assessment will also be used to help Nevada compete for federal funds.
