These maps depict the 2005 estimated health insurance coverage for states and counties by age group and race. The U.S. Census Bureau’s Small Area Health Insurance Estimates (SAHIE) program produces model-based estimates by combining estimates from survey data with administrative records and population estimates through statistical models.
The SAHIE program generates county estimates of the number of people with and without health insurance coverage by age, sex, and income, as well as state estimates by age, sex, race, ethnicity, and income.
