This is the second in the series of regional Conflicts without Borders maps, produced by U.S. Department of State’s Humanitarian Information Unit, that analyzes and visualizes conflict in Southeast Asia as subnational and transnational areas of armed conflict and political violence that occurred in 2008 and 2009.
Distinct conflict-affected areas have been drawn around locations of conflict incidents, as well as concentrations of internally displaced persons and cross-border refugee camps. Selected targeted attacks and piracy incidents in 2008 and 2009 have also be included on the map.
