The Platts “World Energy Capacity & Consumption” map presents core components of the global energy market in vivid color. The map features countries colored by energy consumed in quadrillion Btu (2005) and pie charts for every country, sized by installed generation capacity (MW) and colored by primary fuel. It also shows liquefied natural gas shipping routes and terminals; oil shipping routes, ports, and refineries; country names and country capitals; world time-zone reference; geographic reference grid lines; and an inset map of the world representing changes in energy consumption from 1992 to 2005.
Charts and graphs include top oil consumer and producer countries, world oil exporters and importers, world energy user by fuel (1980–2030), world liquids consumption by end-use sector, world net electric power generation (1990–2030), top energy producer and consumer countries, world electricity generation by fuel (2005–2030), and growth rate for energy-related CO2 emissions (2005–2030).
