This map displays a section of the Provincial Forest Inventory database built from current information pulled from the Enterprise ArcSDE geodatabase. The map depicts possible combinations of twenty-seven tree species, twenty-two nonforest conditions, nineteen silviculture activities, eleven different development stages, and four possible site indicators for drainage. Information for hydrography, transportation, and general landownership classes are also displayed. The map also displays information for hydrography, transportation, general landownership classes, and five-year harvest block periods.
The database was created from digital orthophoto interpretation flown at 1:12,500 scale and scanned from the negatives at 1200 dpi. Forest disturbance information is also collected and submitted by external Forest Industry Licensees using GPS hardware to keep the database current between interpretation cycles.
