The Bob Stump Range Complex Overview map was created to provide an open source cartographic product suitable for public display. This product identifies the major Department of Defense facilities in the immediate vicinity of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma.
The map was originally created at 1:250,000 scale for the Public Affairs Office to show a regional representation of U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) range facilities at a scale consistent with aviation maps. The geographic coverage was expanded at the request of users to include the Yuma Proving Ground, Luke Air Force Base, and Naval Air Facility El Centro. A corresponding scale adjustment was made in order to keep the print size manageable. The extent of the area exceeded any single image coverage available in the installation geospatial holdings and included large areas outside of USMC property and land management responsibilities.
The U.S. Geological Survey National Land Cover Dataset raster color map was modified in Adobe Photoshop to more accurately portray the natural color values.
