Most of today's environmental problems can be, directly or indirectly, related to urban areas. The presence of the urban agglomerations can significantly affect the environmental quality of the atmosphere above. The buildings and the land use in the city have a relevant influence on wind and temperature fields, drag, turbulence production, surface energy budget, and noise.
