Various methods of analyzing road safety are employed by the Québec Ministry of Transportation: security audits, integrated systems, and other diagnostic tools. Simple tools like this map are also used in connection with potential improvement sites.

This map shows fatal accidents and accidents resulting in serious injuries for the period of 2005-2007. Diverse marker tools were used to avoid any confusion in the interpretation and counting of road accidents in the road network managed by the Ministry of Transportation.
