North Carolina Flooding Probabilities

This dataset was produced from five different return period flood events. The 3D water surface and depth rasters were computed for the 10-, 25-, 50-, 100-, and 500-year floods. Statistics were computed for the areas quantifying the threshold flooding event and the likelihood of flooding over a thirty-year period. This likelihood is rendered by color. The resulting products are used as a communication tool to display the cumulative risk for areas both inside and outside the 1 percent annual chance floodplain.
