Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO)

The Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) recently implemented an enterprise level solution for managing production and dissemination of environmental data called NAVOCEANO Geospatial Data Services (NGDS). NGDS manages workflow processes, enforces Department of Defense metadata standards, and stores data in a centralized geodatabase, enabling the discovery and dissemination of environmental data utilizing Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Map, Feature, and Coverage services and other distribution capabilities.
