Maui Land & Pineapple Co. Feasibility Study for Sustainable Development

One of Maui's largest landowners, Maui Land & Pineapple Co., recently ceased growing and harvesting pineapple on West Maui, Hawaii, leaving a large amount of land unused. This location-allocation project calculates the potential for sustainable development on these now-fallow land parcels, suggesting specific sites in order to maximize efficiency and productivity for each.

Development projects accounted for in this study are wind farm construction, solar photovoltaic installment, and organic farming. Such projects would secure the island's need for self-sufficiency and energy independence.
