This map shows examples of a decision support system (DSS) for offshore wind energy in the North Sea. The GIS-based DSS allows the setting of more than 200 constraint-parameters and spatial strategies for the determination of potential space and costs for a large-scale deployment of offshore wind parks.
Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) is Germany's national research center for aeronautics and space. DLR's extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, transportation, and energy is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures.
