This map shows current and historical interruption data (blinks and outages) for eleven counties within the Pioneer REC electrical service area. The concept was to correlate the blink data with the power outages in a single map. The blink data is stored for the past month and grouped by date (one layer) and by the number of the blinks (another layer). A chart shows the current blinks (past twenty-four hours) and a layer corresponding to this data. Included is a customized toolbar that allows the user to write notes, zoom in and out, identify features, and generate HTML reports to view the selected layer.
Another window allows for a quick system overview and zoom capabilities. The map also contains a Momentary Average Interruption Frequency Index chart showing the blinks by substation. This chart is for the historical data and is updated every day automatically.
Outage data for the previous twenty-four hours is plotted to the map and analyzed daily. The blink data is correlated to the outage data to identify problem areas. The outages are classified as individual, transformer, device, or substation.
