Using Job Tracking for ArcGIS, managers can assign units of work efficiently, search through existing jobs easily, and track the user's historical interaction with any given job.

Job Tracking for ArcGIS is a solution-based extension to ArcGIS that provides an integration framework for ArcGIS multiuser geodatabase environments. This enterprise work flow management application simplifies and automates many aspects of job management and tracking and streamlines the work flow, resulting in improved efficiency and significant time savings for any data production and maintenance project.

Developed by the Implementation Services team within the Esri Professional Services Division, Job Tracking for ArcGIS is already successfully installed in government agencies and large utility companies. It provides tools for allocating resources and tracking the status and progress of jobs. A detailed history of job actions is automatically recorded for each job to give managers a play-by-play of how the job was completed. This information can be supplemented with comments and notes to provide even richer job documentation.

Job Tracking for ArcGIS handles complex geodatabase tasks behind the scenes by creating and managing versions. A comprehensive transaction management infrastructure is provided to support historical tracking of feature edits and feature metadata. In addition, developers can use the Job Tracking for ArcGIS integration points and application programming interface (API) to leverage existing or off-the-shelf solutions and develop a custom user interface for performing all job tracking tasks.

Job Tracking for ArcGIS requires ArcSDE in addition to ArcInfo or ArcEditor.
