Survey and GIS Summit 2006

The gap that once separated surveyors and GIS professionals is beginning to narrow as technology is used to uncover new possibilities for collaboration and interoperability. The Survey and GIS Summit 2006—Bridging Survey and GIS Summit 2006the Gap will explore the solutions that fuel new and developing partnerships between these fields and help surveyors and engineers find opportunities in the rapidly expanding realm of GIS. Taking place August 5–8, 2006, in San Diego, California, the Survey and GIS Summit will run concurrently with the Esri International User Conference and is open to both Esri users and nonusers.

This year's conference will offer valuable educational sessions, including presentations and technical demonstrations from surveyors, engineers, business partners, and Esri experts. New for 2006 will be a special session titled Getting Started in GIS, which will explain the basics of GIS while concentrating on specific engineering and surveying needs and case studies.
