Route to new locations in the field with ArcPad StreetMap.

The ArcPad StreetMap extension provides high-quality street level mapping, geocoding, and routing capabilities to GIS users in the field. The ArcPad StreetMap extension supports geocoding and routing for field-workers, who can easily locate addresses and quickly find the optimized route to them. Dynamic barriers can be added to work immediately around construction zones, accident sites, and other undesirable locations. ArcPad users will immediately benefit from a personal digital assistant (PDA)-based street-level database integrated with their existing field data. Potential applications for ArcPad and the StreetMap extension include delivery vehicle routing, inspection planning, work order routing, inventory management, traveling salesperson routing, and incident reporting. ArcPad StreetMap features include

• Detailed street/landmark vector data with predefined symbology
• Advanced address matching
• Geocoding and reverse geocoding
• Routing including point-to-point, multipoint, and "traveling salesman" problems
• Trip management tools for flexible routing
• Support for barriers, stops, and pushpins
• Choice of U.S. TIGER-based data or a detailed street database for the U.S.

ArcPad StreetMap requires ArcPad 6.0.1 and is only supported on Pocket PC and Pocket PC 2002 handheld devices. ArcPad StreetMap is not available for use on Windows Desktop computers. ArcPad StreetMap will be available in Q2 2003.

ArcPad 6.0.1

ArcPad 6.0.1 is a free upgrade for all ArcPad 6 users. Map rotation is a key new feature at 6.0.1, making it especially beneficial for users who rely on GPS for navigation and data capture. Users can set the map to display "course up" rather than "north up." In addition, the ArcPad user interface is now available in many languages.

ArcPad Application Builder 6.0.1

ArcPad Application Builder 6.0.1 offers developers new options for customizing ArcPad, enabling them to further meet their specific field data collection requirements. Enhancements to the ArcPad Application Builder are made via the ArcPad Object Model and the application program interface extensions. Extension layers can be made editable, and all geometric objects in the ArcPad Object Model can be created and edited so that lines and polygons can be easily modified.
