Esri Education User Conference 2004

Educators from around the world will gather at the Marriott Hotel & Marina in San Diego, California, for the Fourth Annual Esri Education User Conference (EdUC). The EdUC will be held August 7–10, 2004, and will host more than 500 K–16 teachers, college and university instructors, school administrators, librarians, and museum professionals from more than 20 countries. Attendees will explore the possibilities of geographic learning and share their experiences of using GIS in the classroom for research, public access, and planning and administration. The benefits of GIS stretch across a multitude of academic disciplines, enhancing research and teaching for all grade levels and providing benefits in school administration and facilities management for school districts, public libraries, and university campuses. The conference will consist of paper presentations, panel discussions, and a showcase that will allow participants to learn about their peers' applications of GIS in education. In addition, hands-on workshops in computer labs will provide demonstrations of classroom activities and geographic analysis techniques.
