PLTS for ArcGIS Representations Distributable and Repeatable

Visual specification tools in PLTS for ArcGIS allow users to manage representations with logical expressions across multiple geodatabases.

Production Line Tool Set (PLTS) for ArcGIS 9.2 includes visual specification tools that simplify the management of feature class representations and calculated text. These tools make cartographic rendering distributable and repeatable across production systems.

Organizations with high-volume database production and maintenance needs can greatly benefit from these capabilities in PLTS for ArcGIS. The visual specification tools retain the logic that associates a feature's attributes to its symbology through relational queries. When data is modified, the representation of the feature is updated so it is consistent with changes to the feature's attribution. As cartographic specifications change, expressions can be easily modified and reapplied to the databases. The tools also allow users to calculate text strings for the management of map text within a database, which helps address complex situations, such as annotation from related tables.

Allowing users to apply representations consistently to the workflows of an enterprise database or multiple databases is one more way PLTS for ArcGIS helps organizations reduce map production time while ensuring the quality of their data.
