May 8, 2007 Jack Dangermond, ESRI President, Receives Honor from ASPRSASPRS Foundation to Bestow Outstanding Service Award for 2007 for First Corporate Sponsored Foundation AwardRedlands, California—ESRI president Jack Dangermond will be awarded the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Outstanding Service Award for 2007. The award will be presented at the ASPRS Annual Conference in Tampa, Florida, May 7–11, 2007. Dangermond is being recognized for his endowment of the ESRI Best Scientific Paper in GIS Award. Established in 1991, the ESRI award is given each year by the ASPRS Foundation to individuals who publish papers of scientific merit that advance the knowledge of geographic information system (GIS) technology. "As [the originator of] the first 'corporate-sponsored' award to be fully endowed through the foundation, Jack Dangermond has once again set an outstanding example to his colleagues in the commercial sector," says James Plasker, ASPRS Foundation executive director. Dangermond will be recognized at the award luncheon and business meeting being held on Wednesday, May 9, noon–1:30 p.m. Other recipients of the Outstanding Service Award for 2007 include the Future of Land Imaging Interagency Working Group and Dave Maune, editor of the second edition of the DEM Manual. # # # Press Information: |
