Apply Geographic Business Intelligence with ArcGIS Business Analyst 9.3.1

Faster Performance, Easier Reporting and Sharing, and Improved Access to Online Maps Are Key Productivity Enhancements of New Release

Redlands, California—ESRI has released an updated version of ArcGIS Business Analyst desktop software, which includes new features designed to optimize geographic analysis for businesses. ArcGIS Business Analyst desktop enables location-based analysis with updated demographic and lifestyle segmentation data, allowing analysts to place customer and company data into a geographic context.

In a slow economy, businesses need a more precise understanding of customer demographics and geographic relationships. ArcGIS Business Analyst provides strategic marketing and customer intelligence through site selection analysis and customer segmentation, helping users quickly identify relevant demographic trends and potential markets. ESRI's updated 2009/2014 demographic data is included, enabling accurate analysis based on data that reflects the recent economic downturn.

At 9.3.1, ArcGIS Business Analyst desktop performance has been greatly improved without sacrificing accuracy. The standard map document (MXD) for ArcGIS Business Analyst has undergone an extensive redesign for a sleeker, more contemporary look and faster map rendering. Thanks to performance improvements like these, many critical analysis functions in this version of ArcGIS Business Analyst are 30 to 50 percent faster than in the previous version.

ArcGIS Business Analyst desktop provides one-click access to online map collections from ArcGIS Online. These map collections include street maps, imagery, and topographic maps. The desktop version also provides standard access to the Bing local search and map collection. This new function complements the infoUSA business data already provided in ArcGIS Business Analyst desktop.

The custom report editor has been extensively overhauled with context-sensitive menus and drag and-drop functionality. Custom report templates designed in ArcGIS Business Analyst desktop can also be published to ArcGIS Business Analyst Server. In this way, analysts can easily create report templates that suit specific needs and let others in their organization run them via access to a Web application that communicates with ArcGIS Business Analyst Server.

ArcGIS Business Analyst is a scalable family of products comprising server, desktop, and online applications that can easily be deployed throughout an organization for improved collaboration and decision making.
