Redlands, California—Federal government employees can now easily purchase ESRI ArcGIS Online services on Apps.gov, the United States General Services Administration's (GSA) source for cloud-based IT services. The initial ArcGIS Online offerings are on the GSA schedule and available on demand. Map services include world satellite imagery and aerial imagery for the United States as well as street, physical, and shaded relief maps. World geocoding and routing task services are also available.

"ESRI has provided its users with cloud services for some time—ESRI Business Analyst Online and ArcGIS Online, for example," says ESRI president Jack Dangermond. "We fully support the mission of Apps.gov to simplify procurement and encourage innovation for increased productivity, efficiency, and cost savings."

ArcGIS Online provides immediate access to millions of dollars' worth of authoritative, timely, and comprehensive data for integration into mission-critical applications. In addition to offering map and task services—many at no cost—ArcGIS Online provides a place for geographic information system (GIS) users to find and share geospatial data and applications. It is a Web-based resource for anyone who wants to discover, create, and build Web maps and data. To learn more, visit www.esri.com/arcgisonline.
