IBM a Silver Sponsor of Esri International User Conference

Esri would like to thank IBM for being a Silver Sponsor of the 2013 Esri International User Conference (Esri UC) in San Diego, California, July 8-12. Over 14,000 GIS users from around the world gathered for a week of learning, sharing, collaborating, socializing, and networking at the largest annual gathering of GIS professionals. IBM hosted two lunch-and-learn-style breakout sessions: Simplified Deployment of Your GIS Implementation with IBM PureSystems and IBM Smarter Cities and Esri Deliver IT without Boundaries. IBM worldwide product manager Phil Fritz delivered a Smarter Cities presentation. IBM also exhibited at the concurrent Esri Business Summit, where commercial business leaders gathered to learn how to use location analytics to improve business outcomes. IBM's support contributed to the positive experience enjoyed by attendees of these conferences.

Predicting Crime Using IBM and Esri Technology

GIS assisted police officers in managing crime. Using risk terrain modeling to map crime history was instrumental in predicting where new hot spots could arise. IBM's SPSS predictive analytics software was used to gather data, after which Esri GIS tools were applied. Learn more.

Esri at IBM Impact

Esri participated recently at IBM Impact, where the key themes of mobile, big data, and IBM PureSystems technology were highlighted. Among many discussions with customers and IBM partners, Esri staff described geospatial enablement of IBM mobile applications on IBM's Worklight platform and discussed how an ArcGIS pattern on PureSystems hardware is deployed.
