Service Pack 5 Offers IBM Portal Server ArcGIS Portlet Development
ArcGIS Server 9.2 Service Pack 5 (SP5) includes an enhancement to the ArcGIS Server Java Application Development Framework (ADF) that provides support for IBM Portal Server ArcGIS portlet development. This gives you the ability to create and publish GIS mapping portlets inside IBM Portal Server. In conjunction, SP5 includes a plug-in for the IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD) environment so that you can create and deploy those ArcGIS portlets more efficiently.

Integeo and SpotOn Deliver Power of Location Intelligence to Cognos Customers
Integeo, ESRI business partner and Australian geospatial business intelligence (BI) pioneer, recently announced that it has signed a strategic agreement with business intelligence consultant SpotOn Systems to provide Cognos customers throughout North America with the ability to create on-demand, interactive, GIS-enabled reports. Under the agreement, SpotOn Systems has integrated Cognos BI solutions with ESRI ArcGIS using Integeo's award-winning Map Intelligence, a rapid application development platform that enables organizations to quickly build custom location-intelligent solutions without any programming.
ESRI Receives IBM's Public Sector Top Star Award
For the second consecutive year, ESRI has received IBM's Public Sector Top Star award. Presented at the 2008 IBM Business Partner Leadership Conference, ESRI was recognized for its "best of the best" business partner qualities and success in the marketplace. Award recipients are also selected based on achieving significant wins. ESRI Business Analyst Online Now Includes New Data for Creating More Detailed Analyses
New datasets added to Business Analyst Online, ESRI's Web-based business analysis tool, enable professionals in commercial real estate, retail, economic development, urban planning, and public safety organizations to conduct even more comprehensive market analyses with data reports and imagery.
Business Locator Report Just Released in Business Analyst Online
The new Business Locator Report lists up to 250 businesses around a given location. Business name, phone number, employee count, estimated sales, and daytime business population are included, allowing you to better know your market, explore alternatives, and present recommendations based on facts. This report is available to basic or premium subscribers, as well as guest users, directly from the Business Analyst Online Web site. View a sample [PDF].
ESRI Releases ArcGIS 9.3 Beta
ESRI is currently distributing the beta version of ArcGIS 9.3. In addition to enhanced performance, participants in the beta program will experience improved functionality and easier integration of data and services. Using the Web, mobile devices, and desktop applications, GIS content and capabilities can be shared with people who may not even be aware they are using z GIS. A highlight of ArcGIS 9.3 will be the new JavaScript APIs that will make it possible to create mashups using ArcGIS Server technology.

The American Heart Association Is Using ESRI Data to Help Fight Heart Disease
Recognizing the role that education plays in combating heart disease, the American Heart Association (AHA) has implemented a strategy that relies on market segmentation to find those most at risk. ESRI's Community Tapestry data is being used to research demographics and socioeconomic factors for neighborhoods nationwide to help ensure that the AHA's message reaches those that can benefit the most from cardiac education.
Cleveland Residential Run-ins Mapped Out with a Click
Administrators at the City of Cleveland, Ohio, have implemented a new system to allow them to better detect early signs of trouble. City officials will be able to tap into all the records - fires, police calls, housing violations, snowplow routes, and boarded-up houses - with an innovative use of ESRI mapping software.
ESRI and Citrix Webcast - How to Accelerate, Extend, and Secure Your ESRI GIS
On March 12, 2008, ESRI and Citrix hosted a 60-minute live webcast featuring the CIO of the National Association of Counties (NACo), IT professionals from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), and ESRI senior enterprise architect Ty Fabling. The presenters discussed how adding Citrix solutions to existing GIS implementations offers more users faster access. RouteMAP IMS is incorporated into YourMLSsearch.com's iMapRES, allowing the company to host interactive mapping and residential data searches for more than 80 MLSs in 20 states.
