Small
Governments Benefit from ESRI/Tele Atlas Relationship
The longstanding relationship between ESRI and Tele
Atlas, a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content
for navigation and location-based solutions, has been expanded by Tele Atlas'
participation in ESRI's Small
Government Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) program. This ESRI ELA
program provides local governments, with populations of 100,000 or fewer,
with affordable enterprise-wide licenses for ESRI's ArcGIS software and Tele
Atlas' comprehensive street data to power essential GIS deployments. The
widely received ELA program is successfully enabling participating local
governments to better serve their citizens with functionality to perform
emergency response and preparedness, permitting and inspection, incident/crime
analysis, hazardous materials inventory, planning, and many other vital
government functions and services. Learn
how Jefferson County, Kansas, is benefiting from an ELA license.

GIS
Called Key to California's Future
Leaders from the public and private sectors of the Golden State recently
gathered at the Conference on California's Future to discuss how GIS can help
officials work around problems crippling the state. To successfully integrate
comprehensive GIS solutions across state agencies, an enterprise GIS
strategy, coupled with strong executive leadership, was deemed California's
best hope for dismantling state IT silos and facilitating cross-agency data
sharing. Also vital to the mission is getting the public to better understand
the role GIS can play in the state's success.
