The ESRI/SAP User Group (ESUG) annual meeting will take place during the ESRI User Conference (ESRI UC). Steve Benner, ESRI director of strategic accounts, will give an overview of the ESRI/SAP relationship, implementation trends, and future prospects. We thank ESRI business partners CyberTech Systems, Inc., and Impress Software for sponsoring this meeting. Lunch will be provided.

Immediately following the meeting, three focused ESRI/SAP sessions will be presented in Room 13. Anyone interested in learning more about how ESRI and SAP work together is welcome to attend.

  • 1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. User Presentations
    Customers worldwide will discuss how they have integrated or plan to integrate ESRI/SAP technology.
  • 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. Technology
    Representatives from ESRI, SAP, and ESRI/SAP business partners will provide an update on integrating their latest technology including mobile applications.
  • 3:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. Implementation
    ESRI/SAP customers and vendors will discuss implementation lessons learned and the benefits of integration.

Tele Atlas Address Points Selected to Enhance ESRI's ArcGIS Business Analyst Desktop Software
ESRI ArcGIS Business Analyst 9.2 desktop software will include Tele Atlas Address Points to provide enhanced geocoding accuracy for GIS application users. The product uses specific data points to pinpoint discrete, actual street addresses to physical buildings or property parcels for precision and accuracy. It is scheduled to be available during Q2 2007.

Conference Report: ESRI Business GeoInfo Summit
Directions Magazine, May 3, 2007&3151;Hal Reid, senior technical editor of Directions Magazine gives an enthusiastic review of the ESRI Business GeoInfo Summit that took place April 23–25 in Dallas, Texas. He covers various conference highlights including a presentation by ESRI's Deanna Anderson on ArcGIS Business Analyst and a demonstration of STDBonline by Jay R. Lucas, president of STDB, Inc. Reid concludes his report, "But this was not purely an ESRI softwarecentric conference—it was about doing real work, making real contributions, and finding real answers."

ArcGIS Image Server Now Included in ESRI Developer Network Program
ArcGIS Image Server, a server-based solution that provides fast access and visualization of large quantities of file-based imagery processed on the fly and on demand, has been added to the suite of software provided to ESRI Developer Network (EDN) subscribers. Both ArcGIS Image Server extensions, Orthorectification and Seamline, are also included.

ESRI Data & Maps 2006 Contains Global Elevation Data
The latest collection of ESRI Data & Maps includes the most detailed worldwide elevation data ever made available to the public. The digital elevation model (DEM) data was collected during the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission in 2000. The space shuttle Endeavour collected data for 80 percent of the earth's land mass including most of the area between 60 degrees north and 56 degrees south. Learn more.

ESRI's GIS Selected for Analysis of Nationwide Educational Facilities in Kenya
The Ministry of Education (MOE) in Kenya has contracted Oakar Services, Ltd., ESRI's distributor in eastern Africa, to develop a GIS database of the educational facilities in the country. This project is part of the Kenya Education Sector Support Programme to improve access and equity in the provision of quality education, as it will provide the necessary geographic view and analytic capabilities required to continue that improvement.

City of Gävle, Sweden, Uses GIS to Speed Building Permit Process
The City of Gävle, Sweden, is using ESRI GIS to accelerate its building permit application process. The intranet-based GIS will deliver accurate, up-to-date information to city staff in a single user-friendly application, replacing the use of static paper maps to verify property boundaries, land-use information, and zoning regulations.
