Infrastructure Limited GIS Integration with SAP and SCADA [PDF]
Reliance Infrastructure Limited (RInfra) distributes electricity to more than
25 million consumers across India, including Delhi and Mumbai, and needed a
cohesive platform for accessing and updating data related to its complex and
scattered electric distribution network. RInfra selected a geographic
information system (GIS) platform from ESRI. To ensure fresh data and enable
better analysis for decision making, the company integrated GIS with its SAP
business software and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)
system.

Logistics
Technology Finds New Life in "Green" Times
Companies increasingly understand the business benefits of going
"green" - not only from the obvious perspective of operational
efficiency but also from a marketing perspective. But the benefits to
companies go beyond simply green benefits; companies using logistic
optimization applications also benefit from reduced labor expenditures and
fleet size as well as faster deliveries and more accurate time windows.
GIS-based logistics software provides the quantified information and
necessary analytic capabilities companies are looking for to help them
increase the efficiency of fleet vehicles by optimizing standard routes,
leading to reduced fuel consumption.

Super
Bowl Working toward Super Security with GIS

popular NFL event. Recognizing the importance of coordinating activities
between the many city departments that must prepare for and respond to all
aspects of Super Bowl security, the City of Tampa, Florida, employed GIS as a
management tool. For commanders monitoring Super Bowl-related events, the
ArcGIS solution helped keep information flowing smoothly from the field to
the command posts and back again, as well as between multiple information
systems and data feeds.
