SAS, the market leader in business intelligence, has joined forces with ESRI to extend its joint customer work to create foundation level access between SAS data stores and ESRI spatial objects. SAS and ESRI will also be examining industry specific spatially enabled business solutions to address market needs.

Over the years, SAS and ESRI have jointly solved customer business questions and found that organizations did not want to leave their existing analysis environment by introducing other data storage repositories or applications. Therefore, SAS and ESRI are leveraging the work done to date and developing tight integration between their respective technologies.

The combination of SAS and ESRI will enable organizations to apply best-of-breed technology to solve business questions that inherently consider the impact of spatial relationships as part of the intelligence creation process. With the pending growth of mobile location services, companies will be hard pressed to find alternative solutions that provide the power and flexibility that SAS and ESRI will be able to offer jointly.
