American Forests is the nation's oldest nonprofit conservation organization, working to ensure healthy, sustainable forests since 1875. Pioneering GIS use in the field of urban forestry, American Forests developed CITYgreen, an extension to ArcGIS. CITYgreen calculates the economic benefits that urban natural resources provide by quantifying storm water runoff reduction, air pollution and carbon monoxide removal, and water quality improvement. Planners, landscape architects,developers, conservationists, educators, and other professionals use CITYgreen to improve the environment.
