ASA integrates computer models with field data to answer interdisciplinary questions related to marine and freshwater environments. Its scope of services is broad, reflecting 20 years of experience solving environmental and engineering issues including water quality management, biological assessment, and oil and hazardous materials modeling. ASA specializes in the integration of these numerical models with GIS and real-time data links including providing real-time model results on the Internet. ASA's clients include international governments, universities, research institutes, and major oil companies. ASA uses ESRI ArcGIS technologies extensively in providing the aforementioned services, utilizing both standard (e.g. Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst) and custom-built extensions. Many of its products have been incorporated into the ESRI ArcGIS framework as extensions such as OilMap for ArcGIS and ChemMap for ArcGIS. ASA also uses ArcSDE for storage of extensive and frequently used datasets and ArcIMS for providing Web map services.
