GAF, a private sector enterprise founded in 1985 and located in Munich, Germany, began by providing services centered on Earth observation satellite data. These services were soon combined with spatial information system technology developed by ESRI. Today, GAF offers a broad range of GIS and remote-sensing applications, ranging from geodata procurement (satellite data, digital elevation model [DEM], land-use and land-cover data), value-adding processing, information processing, system design and integration and software development (GIS, DBMS, Internet) to the provision of turnkey technical assistance projects and customized/integrated spatial land management and monitoring systems. Clients include the World Bank, USA (WB), Inter-American Development Bank, USA (IDB), European Union (EU), United Nations (UN), and national government agencies. GAF has successfully implemented projects in more than 80 countries around the globe. GAF uses the latest and complete ESRI product suite for the successful execution and implementation of its projects.
