PennWell's MAPSearch licenses GIS data for the energy industry. Pipeline sector data includes natural gas, crude oil, refined products, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)/natural gas liquid (NGL), and petrochemical pipelines along with the associated facilities. MAPSearch pipeline data is the most accurate and complete available. Data coverage includes the United States, Canada, offshore Gulf of Mexico, Mexico, the Middle East, and refineries worldwide. MAPSearch also offers North American electric power data. Fully attributed data includes transmission lines, power plants, and substations; North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) regions; and investor-owned utilities (IOU), municipal, and rural electrical area (REA) service territories. All data is stored in an ArcSDE database and maintained using ArcGIS Desktop software.
