Canada

Partner of the Year: Earth-to-Map GIS Inc.
—Developer
Earth-to-Map GIS Inc. (E2MGIS) has had principals committed to ESRI technologies since 1989. The principal partners for E2MGIS are former employees of ESRI Canada Limited: Marc Beaudoin, ESRI regional director, Montreal, 1989–1992, and Pierre Lermusieaux, ESRI consultant, Vancouver and Montreal, 1991–1993.

E2MGIS has developed a strong relationship with ESRI Canada. As a provider of consulting, data, and software development services, E2MGIS has consistently demonstrated its strong commitment to its clients’ success while leveraging ESRI desktop and server technologies. The company's knowledge and expertise in large-enterprise database solutions and, more specifically, Canadian base data, address management, and geocoding enhances ESRI Canada offerings as well as eases the implementation of an ESRI GIS solution for new clients.

E2MGIS was instrumental in the implementation of ESRI GIS technology for the National Geographic Database at Elections Canada as well as the development of the partnership between Elections Canada and Statistics Canada for the ongoing maintenance of the shared GIS database. This involvement with Elections Canada was critical with the migration of the Bentley MicroStation platform to ESRI software.

EM2GIS database architect consulting resources were used for the address management system (AMS) project of Canada Post Corporation. This implementation is one of the largest ESRI geodatabases in North America.

The company's newest released product, the StreetPerfect for ArcGIS extension, greatly simplifies the Canadian address georeferencing challenges by encapsulating state-of-the-art address accuracy software with the powerful geocoding capabilities of ArcGIS 9.2. An accurate location for addresses is the key to successful location-driven analysis like geodemographic planning and targeting or emergency management.

ESRI Canada Limited will be the exclusive reseller of this value-added ArcGIS product beginning in January 2008.

In summary, historically, ESRI Canada’s clients have been in the natural resources and environment sector. With assistance from business partner Earth-to-Map GIS, ESRI Canada has been able to extend ESRI software into the demographic and health verticals traditionally dominated by competitors.
