E2MGIS was instrumental in the implementation of ESRI GIS technology for the National Geographic Database at Elections Canada as well as the development of the partnership between Elections Canada and Statistics Canada for the ongoing maintenance of the shared GIS database. This involvement with Elections Canada was critical with the migration of the Bentley MicroStation platform to ESRI software. EM2GIS database architect consulting resources were used for the address management system (AMS) project of Canada Post Corporation. This implementation is one of the largest ESRI geodatabases in North America. The company's newest released product, the StreetPerfect for ArcGIS extension, greatly simplifies the Canadian address georeferencing challenges by encapsulating state-of-the-art address accuracy software with the powerful geocoding capabilities of ArcGIS 9.2. An accurate location for addresses is the key to successful location-driven analysis like geodemographic planning and targeting or emergency management. ESRI Canada Limited will be the exclusive reseller of this value-added ArcGIS product beginning in January 2008. In summary, historically, ESRI Canada’s clients have been in the natural resources and environment sector. With assistance from business partner Earth-to-Map GIS, ESRI Canada has been able to extend ESRI software into the demographic and health verticals traditionally dominated by competitors. Developer R.J. Burnside has been developing solutions for municipalities using ESRI technology since 1996, and it has developed ESRI-centric software solutions such as Burnside GIS Tools, Land Use Module, Notification Module, Roads Asset Management System, and Enquiries and Complaints Management System. These modules help small- to medium-sized municipalities manage legislation, transportation, and other important aspects of their day-to-day operations. These modules were developed to assist municipal staff to become more effective and efficient without specialized GIS training. R.J. Burnside became an official business partner with ESRI Canada Limited in 2002. In 2004, R.J. Burnside received the ESRI New Business Partner of the Year, Canada, Award for its work in the municipal sector. This award is given to partners that have developed innovative GIS solutions that make a significant impact in the marketplace. Since 1996, R.J. With the formation of Ventyx, MDSI's long-established solution became Service Suite, one of the three solution suites that comprise the Ventyx Service Delivery Management (SDM) strategy. Service Suite is a comprehensive mobile workforce management solution, automating service workflow from scheduling to performance measurement. Service Suite makes strong use of several embedded ESRI developer components—both server and desktop based—to form a true enterprise class solution. Developed in-house by Experian, the application is targeted at commercial business users and GIS analysts. The current user base is drawn from general retailers, financial service providers, supermarkets, utilities, pub operators, motor manufacturers, media owners, and leisure companies. The application provides a broad range of functionality and has ubiquitous appeal to the wide variety of organizations it supports. This includes importing and geocoding of customers, location or sales data, geodemographic profiling, catchment definition, sales territory analysis, data modeling, mapping, and visualization. MicromarketerG3 has enabled Experian to retain its global customer base and associated annual income. Since its launch in 2006, it has secured the organization a further 24 percent of new contract revenue, proving that it has been a commercially successful product. On December 4, 2007, Experian won the Association for Geographic Information’s (AGI) annual award for innovation and best practice in the private sector for its new MicromarketerG3 geographic mapping tool. New Partner of the Year: Symology In England and Wales, Symology's Insight software is utilized by more than one-third of highway authorities. In Scotland, the system is deployed on a central server and used by all Scottish road authorities, all utilities, and a number of agencies such as the Scottish Executive. Insight is also widely used in the UK's gas, electricity, and water utility companies. In August 2007, Symology launched Insight version 2.4, which comprises a complete redevelopment of the existing mapping functions. The new, substantially enhanced facilities, based on ArcGIS Engine, provide synchronized bidirectional connectivity with full inquiry and updating capabilities; it also provides users with the ability to "drive" the system from the map. The embedded functions exploit the capabilities of ArcGIS Desktop mapping products, including sophisticated symbology definition and layer control, and have the ability to read and display all supported GIS, CAD, and graphic formats as well as being able to utilize Web mapping and Web feature services. The Insight system allows multiple map definitions to be defined and allocated to users, allowing different users to access the embedded mapping with personally tailored views. Foundation Partner of the Year: MVA Consultancy (MVA Ltd.) MVA Consultancy has recently transformed its existing PT Insight software for public transport information management from MapObjects to ArcGIS Engine, and this year the company has supplied more than 100 seats to a number of major UK transport authorities. These are important reference sites for MVA and ESRI and demonstrate the robustness of ArcGIS in public transport management and operations. |
