ESRI and EMC have combined technology and resources to provide the Image Storage Architecture (ISA), a seamless system that effectively meets the demands of ESRI customers' GIS Life Cycle Data Management requirements. The solution set scales from entry-level application environments through enterprise wide application environments. ISA provides continuous access to the data and policy-based management of the data, enabling the automated movement between current, historical, and archival GIS data repositories.

ISA delivers preconfigured, pretested, and integrated storage solutions that can be used to manage large volumes of spatial image data with standard application interfaces supporting a wide range of Web and desktop application environments. These solutions utilize the EMC CLARiiON with both fiber and ATA drives, Centera Content Addressable Storage, and intelligent data management software. This combination allows the data work flow to be controlled by customer business policies, which improves access to data, reduces the cost of storage, and lowers operating costs.
