GeoCollector Series

Offers

GeoCollector is an end-to-end field data collection solution that merges ESRI mobile geographic information system (GIS) technology with Trimble professional-grade global positioning system (GPS) hardware. With GeoCollector, you can increase the accuracy of your data collection, resulting ultimately in a superior enterprise GIS.

Four essential components are needed to fully take advantage of mobile GIS: a rugged handheld computer, GIS software for field mapping applications, a GPS receiver with professional-grade accuracy, and complete hardware and software technical support from the provider of the mobile GIS solution.* GeoCollector integrates all of these to form a complete mobile GIS solution tailored to those who need the added accuracy of a professional-grade GPS.

The GeoCollector solution, exclusively from ESRI, is designed to ensure that the benefits of a mobile GIS workflow are a reality throughout your organization.

GeoCollector Rugged Handheld—The Industry Standard
Trimble's GeoExplorer 2008 series comes with a choice of 1-3meter, submeter, or subfoot accuracies. The subfoot variant is capable of achieving decimeter to subfoot accuracy with postprocessing or in real time with suppliers of VRS or dual frequency base stations, which may require subscription fees to such providers. All three feature a 520 MHz XScale processor running the latest Microsoft® Windows MobileT 6.0 software, VGA display (480 x 640) sunlight-readable color touch screen, internal rechargeable battery for all-day use, 1 GB nonvolatile Flash data storage, Bluetooth 1.2 wireless technology, 802.11b/g wireless LAN connectivity, and sealed SD/SDHC card slot.
GeoCollector Field Software—GPS Field Data Collection
Each GeoCollector system comes preloaded with ESRI's ArcPad®, delivering hassle-free field collection and seamless data integration with ArcGIS® products by using the same data formats, symbology, and project structure in the field and in the office. The Trimble GPScorrectT extension for ArcPad, also preloaded, collects and manages GPS data to enable improved GIS data accuracy through differential correction with Trimble GPS AnalystT extension for ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software.
GeoCollector Desktop Software—GPS Data Processing Hub
Although data can be used directly from the field, Trimble's GPS Analyst extension for ArcGIS Desktop completes the end-to-end GeoCollector workflow. GPS Analyst enables automated download and postprocessing of your GeoCollector data directly in the ArcGIS Desktop environment, and by differentially correcting downloaded data, GPS Analyst ensures the accuracy of your GIS. GPS Analyst is a key component of the GeoCollector system and must be purchased for each ArcGIS workstation or notebook through which GeoCollector data is to be downloaded and processed.

GeoCollector The GeoCollector submeter is the essential tool for maintaining your GIS. The GeoCollector submeter is optimized to provide reliable, high-accuracy GIS data. It's ideal for use by utility companies, local government organizations, federal agencies, or anyone managing assets or mapping critical infrastructure that needs accurate, up-to-date data.
Item 103987—GeoCollector Subfoot
Unit Price: $6,500
GeoCollector The GeoCollector subfoot is the top-of-the-line solution for high-accuracy GIS data collection. Engineered with H-StarT technology, the GeoCollector Subfoot delivers the GPS accuracy required by electric and gas utilities, water and wastewater services, land reform projects, and other applications where accurate positioning is crucial. H-Star technology can provide subfoot (30 cm) accuracy in real time or after postprocessing with GPS Analyst for ArcGIS Desktop, and decimeter (10 cm/4 in) accuracy with the optional ZephyrT antenna. To obtain decimeter to subfoot accuracy in real time, you can connect to the Internet using a Bluetooth-enabled cellular phone to access corrections from a dual-frequency VRS network or base station. Alternatively, you can receive real-time corrections from a dual-frequency base station via an external radio. Real time may require paying fees to providers of VRS or dual-frequency base station suppliers.

Trimble's H-Star technology uses revolutionary processing techniques to achieve subfoot accuracy. Achieving these results requires either one dual-frequency base station within 80 km or at least three dual-frequency base stations within 200 km of where your fieldwork was performed. To verify that you have the necessary base station configuration in your area, please refer to www.esri.com/trimblehstarmap [PDF].
