DTU-2231 Solution

Wacom DTU-2231

Wacom’s DTU-2231 interactive pen display provides a natural and efficient way to work. It combines a 21.5", full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) widescreen LCD with Wacom's patented, cordless, battery-free pen technology. Using the pen directly on the display surface provides the benefits of an all-digital workflow while simulating a pen-on-paper experience.

The DTU-2231 can be used for sketch-based editing, heads-up digitizing, and red-lining in ArcGIS, as well as inputting handwritten annotations and comments. Because the pen is the input device, it provides cursor control in any software application. The Wacom pen display provides an extremely fast, efficient, and comfortable way for GIS professionals to work with their digital source materials.

Leveraging ArcGIS 10

ArcGIS 10 Feature Templates incorporate sketched-based editing for map creation and production. The concept of sketch is truly brought to life by utilizing a DTU-2231 pen display. The process becomes intuitive because you are literally drawing with a pen. Simply select the appropriate symbol from customizable on-screen feature templates and begin drawing. As you create, you create features, not graphics – ArcGIS manages the properties and attributes in the geodatabase. Map creation, feature extraction from raster imagery and vector editing are made simpler and faster.
