LayerLogic for ESRI's ArcGIS Enters Beta ReleaseContact Boulder, Colorado (USA), June 2006Placeways, LLC, announces the beta release of LayerLogic™, an ESRI ArcGIS extension for real-time analysis using field formulas. The graphical drag-and-drop interface lets users create "Smart Fields" in layer attribute tables. Smart Field values are formula driven and self-updating. Almost 100 analysis functions are available for creating everything from on-the-spot calculations like "name of closest city" to sophisticated geospatial models. LayerLogic can also be used to create dynamic, formula-driven inputs to geoprocessing tools such as those found in the ESRI applications ArcToolbox or ModelBuilder. "LayerLogic is to attribute tables what a spreadsheet is to a table of numbersonly much more because it's geospatial," says Placeways' president Doug Walker. "It's designed for people who use ArcGIS on a regular basis and want to get more information out of their data and save time on data maintenance." LayerLogic Beta was released on June 12th and is currently available as a free download. Prices for the production version have not been announced. Placeways is recruiting beta testers to try out the software and give feedback with ideas for improvement before the general release this summer. The beta program, which requires a few qualifications, is open to the public through July 4th. More information about LayerLogic and the beta test program are available at www.layerlogic.com. ### LayerLogic is a trademark of Placeways, LLC.
