Impress Software Announces the Availability of Impress for GIS 2.1 to Enhance SAP and GIS Integration

New Release Extends Offering for Utilities with Support for SAP's IS-U/CCS (Customer Care & Service) Module

Waltham, Ma. – March 5, 2007 – Impress Software, a leading provider of packaged integration applications, today announced the availability of Impress for GIS 2.1, adding new features to further streamline and enhance spatial asset management in an SAP environment. Highlighting this release is the support for the Customer Care & Service module of SAP's industry business solution for Utilities (IS-U/CCS.)

Impress for GIS 2.1 introduces new capabilities to provide customer service and maintenance departments with a clear picture of device infrastructure, service consumption and customer status by enabling map-based access to data stored in CCS. For improved decision making and analysis, Impress for GIS 2.1 adds notification and CCS data to its spatial analysis capabilities.

Packaged integration applications, like Impress for GIS 2.1, deliver pre-defined industry best practices in application integration to speed development, reduce implementation risk and lower the total cost of ownership. Additional features of Impress for GIS 2.1 include:

SAP Technical Object Browser – Enables GIS users to view and manipulate SAP asset structures comprised of both mapped and unmapped locations and equipment. From this map-based browser, users can traverse asset hierarchies, place unmapped objects on the map via drag-and-drop placement, and perform common work management processes.
Enhanced Reporting and Analysis - Automatically aggregates and renders statistics for features by map boundaries. For example, users can examine maintenance costs per county or number of incidents per area, and export statistical information to Microsoft Excel for further analysis.
New Work Management Processes - Allows GIS users to modify work orders, search and view notifications, and spatially analyze notification statistics.
Enhanced Service Oriented Architecture and Partner Support - Provides web services for common Impress business processes that can be consumed by composite applications, and the ability to convert any Impress process into a web service. Impress for GIS 2.1 also supports new partner releases, including MySAP ERP 2005 and MS SQL 2005.
